Chiron Data Systems is a privately held company incorporated in the State of Texas since 2005.
We deliver information systems solutions in areas where the current offerings are neither cost effective nor capable
of satisfying the requirements of the end user. Our commitment is to deliver software solutions that leverage the most
favorable level of technological sophistication for the most realistic financial investment.
Chiron Data Systems' current business consists of the development, licensing and maintenance of DiaMed, which is a
comprehensive diabetes self-management education software program used to meet the documentation needs and regulatory
requirements of diabetes education centers.

Meet Our Founders
Melanie Irwin Smith MBA, RD, CDE

Vice President of Operations and Founder
Melanie founded Chiron Data Systems with seven years of health care experience focused
in diabetes patient and program management. Melanie's launch into diabetes education began
with her establishment of a diabetes management program for All Saints Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
Following a merger with Baylor Health Care System (BHCS), the sponsoring organization of one of the largest multi-site diabetes
programs currently holding ADA Recognition, Melanie's program evolved. Under her direction and management, the
Baylor All Saints program quickly became one of BHCS's largest diabetes centers. Prior to her departure in 2005,
the diabetes center had served over 2000 patients referred by over 150 physicians. Melanie's tenure in the health
care and diabetes fields afford her insight into the unique needs of diabetes education
programs.
It was with this insider's view that Melanie generated the idea for DiaMed. After earning a Bachelor of Science
in Dietetics from the University of Texas at Austin, Melanie completed her Masters in Business
Administration at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business in 2006 where she was
elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, the highest academic honor awarded to business students.

President and Founder
Prior to establishing Chiron Data Systems, Aaron served as the Director of Programming for
Colwick Travel Corporation where he managed the company-wide integration of all software systems
with Sabre and ResX Online Travel Booking and Profile System. Aaron's vast development experience
is rooted in his years as a web application consultant and lead developer of data management
projects for numerous large technologically-advanced companies including The Dallas Cowboys, The Associates,
Anderson Consulting, and Trinity Rail Systems. Following military service in Desert Storm, Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from
Southwestern Oklahoma State which gave him insight into disease management and the
field of health care. Aaron is currently a Masters of Software Engineering candidate at Southern Methodist
University in Dallas, Texas.
